Walu
Synthetic polymer paint on canvas
153 x 76 cm

There were two men and one little boy camping at the Walu rockhole. The men went hunting and left the little boy behind. The men returned with an emu and pulled out its heart. The boy was holding the heart and blood spilt on the rocks. He ran away with the heart and turned into wind

Tjapartji Bates
Kungkarangkalpa
Synthetic polymer paint on canvas

This painting is about the Kungkarangkalpa (Seven Sisters). They travelled through tali (sandhills) country, camping at rockholes and hunting for kuka (meat). They killed a Tiwil. They then went to Kalalu and went crawling along the creek, ending up in Wanarn.
